Students of Promise

The intellectual power of our students is impressive. Our admissions process permits the finest students to join our school.  Our classes are small, with a limit of 20 students for two full-time teachers in elementary and fewer than 20 students per class in secondary.  Many of our students are multi-lingual from the earliest of ages.

Programs of Excellence

We ensure that our school meets world-class standards. We are recognized by the Turkish Ministry of National Education and accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

We are authorized to deliver the IB Primary Years Programme.  Our bilingual elementary program follows a co-teaching model so that every classroom has two full-time teachers (one national and one international).  The middle school follows a blend of adopted standards so that our students are well-prepared for the rigors of high school. Our high school is authorized to offer the IGCSE and IB Diploma Programmes. All of our students experience an enriching program of specialists that includes music, visual arts, drama, technology, and physical education. Combined with our extra-curricular activities, our students develop creativity with academic depth. Our graduates are accepted to the best universities in Türkiye and throughout the world.

Environments for Success
Purpose-built middle and elementary schools are connected to the original high school and administrative offices to make up the main building on campus.  There is a large performance hall, a black box theater, multi-purpose room, two libraries, three mac labs, a snack bar and a cafeteria in the main building.

The pre-kindergarten and kindergarten sections are based in two separate stand alone facilities.

All BLIS classrooms are large and bright with natural light.  Each division has dedicated separate locations for music, drama and visual arts.

Our multi-lingual library collection contains over 10,000 titles and electronic resources.

Our indoor gymnasium accommodates basketball and volleyball, while our exercise center, sports annex and locker rooms allow for varied activities. Our outdoor sports facilities include a grass field, two soccer pitches, three playgrounds, and a basketball court.

Teachers of Excellence

The faculty is a carefully selected group of professionals chosen on the basis of their credentials, and personal qualities. Our Turkish teachers are experienced, fully-qualified educators, trained in world-class pedagogical strategies. Some have international experience. Our international teachers meet the same high standards, and must also meet the Turkish regulation of holding an undergraduate degree and certification in the fields in which they teach, in addition to a minimum of two years successful full-time teaching experience.
